"All the great plans of mice and men."
Not a good start to the day, as when we trotted up CHEATINGSIDEOFTOWN before loading him onto his truck to Doncaster Sales, he was just not quite sound. He got an 'over-reach' during his race, probably when he jumped the path on the run-in, which has resulted in a deep bruise. It is no good sending a horse upto the sales, even with a plausible 'IF', as he's bound to get 'knocked' for it, as buyers are wisely sceptical and suspicious. We'll just have to wait until the next sale in about eight weeks time.
EDGEVINE and LAGO VERDE are on their way to Doncaster, where i hope they will sell alright as the can both win races without, i would think, becoming super-stars.
Then onto Southwell for the 8.05pm, where KENTMERE is a rare runner for us on the All-Weather there. The firm ground has prevented us risking 'WILLIAM', but this 2m. handicap looks a good opportinity to keep him fit and he'd have a good each-way chance of contributing to his feed bills.
